Terms of Use

Who these terms cover. In these Terms, “User” means every individual who accesses or uses ClassCandid, whether or not that individual creates an account, leaves or reads a review. “Service” means the ClassCandid website, its content, features, and related communications.

Purpose. ClassCandid is a moderated space for adults to share and read firsthand opinions, product questions, and practical implementation ideas about K–12 education products. ClassCandid does not endorse, warrant, verify, or guarantee any product, service, provider, review, recommendation, or other User-submitted content. Reviews and other contributions reflect the opinions and experiences of the Users who submit them and do not necessarily reflect the views of ClassCandid.

Nothing on the Service constitutes legal, financial, medical, educational, procurement, accessibility, compliance, or other professional advice. Each User is responsible for independently evaluating products and determining whether a product is appropriate for that User’s circumstances.

Eligibility and accounts. Users must be at least 18 years old to create an account or submit content. A User may submit a moderated review without an account. An account is required for responses, private follow-ups, notifications, and managing account-linked content. Users who create accounts must provide accurate account information, safeguard credentials, and use only one account. A User’s public identity is an anonymous alias; email and identity-provider information are not public.

Prohibited uses. A User may not use the Service for unlawful activity; malware, viruses, scraping, bots, or automated collection; attempts to circumvent moderation; manipulation of reviews; multiple accounts; attempts to determine the identity of an anonymous User; retaliation against a User; interference with the Service; false claims of verified provider status; or commercial solicitation. A User may not submit student information, school or district names, confidential records, screenshots, copied instructional materials, personal contact details, harassment, threats, misleading factual claims, impersonation, paid or fake reviews, or vendor solicitation.

Moderation. ClassCandid may hold, reject, remove, or limit content or accounts that violate these Terms, create safety, privacy, legal, or platform-integrity concerns, or for any other reason ClassCandid reasonably determines appropriate. ClassCandid may make limited non-substantive edits to reviews for privacy, formatting, clarity, length, or compliance. ClassCandid will not materially alter the substance or viewpoint of a review without the submitting User’s consent, except where necessary to protect privacy, comply with law, or address a safety or integrity concern. ClassCandid will not remove a review merely because a provider disagrees with an opinion.

Submitted content; assignment and license. When a User submits an original review, rating, response, question, idea, or other content to the Service, the User assigns to ClassCandid all right, title, and interest the User has in that submitted content, including applicable copyright. To the extent an assignment is not effective or permitted, the User grants ClassCandid a perpetual, irrevocable, worldwide, royalty-free, transferable, sublicensable license to use, host, reproduce, display, distribute, archive, adapt, edit for privacy, formatting, clarity, or moderation, create derivative works from, analyze, promote, and otherwise use that submitted content in connection with operating, improving, protecting, researching, marketing, and providing the Service, including in newsletters and other ClassCandid communications. This assignment and license continue after account deletion for content that remains displayed anonymously.

Your promises about submissions. A User may submit only original content that the User has the right to share. A User may not submit third-party copyrighted materials, confidential information, student information, screenshots, or material that identifies a school, district, or person. A User will not receive payment for submitted content unless ClassCandid separately agrees in writing.

Disclaimer of warranties. The Service is provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis. ClassCandid makes no representations or warranties, express or implied, regarding the Service or any content available through it. ClassCandid does not warrant that the Service or User-submitted content will be accurate, complete, reliable, current, secure, uninterrupted, or available at all times, and does not endorse or guarantee the accuracy, reliability, or suitability of any opinion, review, question, idea, response, or other User-submitted content.

Limitation of liability. To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, ClassCandid and its owners, operators, affiliates, officers, directors, employees, agents, and service providers will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or for loss of profits, revenue, business opportunities, goodwill, data, or other intangible losses, arising out of or relating to use of, inability to use, or reliance upon the Service or any content available through the Service, regardless of the legal theory on which the claim is based.

Indemnification. To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, each User agrees to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless ClassCandid and its owners, operators, affiliates, officers, directors, employees, agents, and service providers from and against any claims, demands, actions, causes of action, liabilities, damages, losses, judgments, costs, and expenses, including reasonable attorneys’ fees, arising out of or relating to that User’s violation of these Terms, unlawful or improper content or conduct, infringement or misappropriation of another person’s intellectual-property or other rights, violation of another person’s privacy or confidentiality rights, or misuse of the Service.

Governing law and attorney fees. These Terms are governed by, construed, and enforced in accordance with the laws of the State of Tennessee. The jurisdiction for any civil action brought under these Terms lies exclusively in the Chancery Court of Madison County, Tennessee, and will be tried by the Chancellor without a jury. In an action at law or in equity brought under these Terms or to enforce or interpret them, the prevailing party is entitled to recover reasonable attorneys’ fees and other fees and expenses, as fixed by the court and made part of any judgment or decree.

Third-party products and services. ClassCandid does not guarantee product quality, safety, legal or regulatory compliance, compatibility, educational effectiveness, pricing, availability, or suitability for a particular school or classroom for any third-party educational product or service.

Anonymous participation. ClassCandid is designed to allow Users to participate publicly using an anonymous alias. ClassCandid does not intentionally publish a User’s email address, identity-provider information, or other private account information. However, anonymity cannot be guaranteed in every circumstance, including where disclosure is required by law, legal process, or to address a serious safety or security concern. A User may be identifiable from details voluntarily included in a review or other submission, such as unique incidents, writing style, screenshots, statements about a role, or information shared directly with a provider or another third party.

Changes and contact. Material policy changes will require renewed acceptance when appropriate. For questions about these Terms, contact ClassCandid at support@classcandid.com.

Privacy Policy

Data collected. ClassCandid collects information reasonably necessary to provide, maintain, secure, and improve the Service. Depending on how a User uses the Service, that information may include:

• Account information. Account registration and authentication information, anonymous aliases, policy acknowledgments and consent records, notification and communication preferences, and other information needed to administer an account.
• Content and submissions. Reviews, comments, product questions, implementation ideas, follow-up requests, moderation reports or flags, website feedback, and other information voluntarily submitted through the Service.
• Technical and device information. Information automatically collected when a User accesses or uses the Service, which may include IP address, browser type and version, operating system, device type, device identifiers, display information, language and time-zone settings, referring and exit pages, approximate geographic information derived from an IP address, and other technical information associated with use of the Service.
• Usage information and analytics. Information about interactions with the Service, including pages or features viewed, searches and interactions, dates and times of access, session information, navigation patterns, and other usage information. ClassCandid may use analytics tools and similar technologies to understand use of the Service, measure performance, identify trends, and improve the Service.
• Cookies and similar technologies. ClassCandid may use cookies, local storage, web beacons, and similar technologies to operate the Service, remember preferences, maintain sessions, understand usage, provide security, and support analytics and other functionality. Some of these technologies may be placed or managed by service providers acting on behalf of ClassCandid.
• Security and operational information. Logs, diagnostic information, error reports, fraud-prevention information, and other technical information reasonably necessary to monitor, troubleshoot, protect, and maintain the security and reliability of the Service.

ClassCandid may combine information collected from different sources when reasonably necessary for the purposes described in this policy. Information collected automatically may be associated with an account, device, or other information provided to ClassCandid. For abuse prevention, an anonymous review may be associated with a one-way technical identifier derived from network information; ClassCandid does not display that identifier publicly.

How information is used. ClassCandid uses information to authenticate accounts, verify email addresses, moderate content, operate follow-ups and notifications, prevent abuse, respond to requests, meet legal obligations, and improve the Service. ClassCandid does not publicly display email addresses, school names, student data, or personal contact details, and does not disclose a User’s identity to a product provider without separate permission.

Sharing. ClassCandid shares information only with service providers needed to run the Service, such as hosting, database, authentication, and email providers, under appropriate contractual controls; when required by law; or to protect Users and the Service. ClassCandid does not sell personal information.

Account deletion and retention. A User with an account may request account deletion from My Review Activity or by contacting support@classcandid.com. When an account is deleted, ClassCandid may retain and continue to display previously published content in anonymized form where reasonably necessary to preserve the integrity, continuity, and usefulness of the community. ClassCandid retains information only as reasonably needed for security, moderation, disputes, legal obligations, and the purposes described in this policy.

Account suspension and termination. ClassCandid may suspend, restrict, or terminate a User’s account, with or without notice, for violations of these Terms; suspected fraud or abuse; attempts to manipulate the Service; safety or security concerns; compliance with legal or regulatory requirements; prolonged inactivity; or threats to the integrity, reliability, or proper operation of the Service. Suspension or termination does not necessarily delete previously published content. Previously approved content may remain available in an anonymous or otherwise non-identifying form.

Children. ClassCandid is intended solely for individuals who are 18 years of age or older. By creating an account or using account features, a User represents that the User is at least 18. ClassCandid does not knowingly permit children to create accounts or knowingly collect personal information directly from children.

Security and changes. ClassCandid uses safeguards designed to protect information and relies on vetted service providers for hosting, database, authentication, and email services. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and ClassCandid cannot guarantee absolute security. Material policy changes will be presented for renewed acceptance when appropriate. Advertising, sponsorships, and promoted placements. ClassCandid may display paid advertisements, sponsored content, or promoted product placements relevant to the Service’s general educational audience or the page a User is viewing. Payment for advertising or sponsorship does not influence independent review ratings, non-sponsored search results, moderation, or whether a review is approved, rejected, displayed, or removed. ClassCandid does not sell Users’ personal information to advertisers or permit advertisers to use Users’ personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising.

Review & Community Rules

Review requirements. Every posted review requires a direct-use attestation, conflict disclosure, agreement to these rules, and moderation. Reviews submitted without an account are displayed as “Anonymous guest” and cannot accept responses, receive notifications, or be self-managed after submission. A review submitted by a User with an account may be connected to an anonymous alias and may opt into responses. Optional educator verification is never displayed as a school identity.

Review standard. A User submitting a review must write from direct experience, distinguish opinion from fact, be specific about implementation, disclose relationships or incentives, and describe the product—not a school, employee, student, or company representative. ClassCandid may reject a review for lack of direct use, missing disclosure, privacy risk, policy violation, or another reason ClassCandid reasonably determines appropriate.

Product questions and ideas. A User with an account may ask a product-specific question or share a practical idea without posting a review or proving direct use. A User must clearly distinguish a question or idea from firsthand experience. Questions, ideas, and responses are moderated, may not include identifying or confidential information, and never affect product ratings.

Follow-ups. Follow-ups are opt-in, anonymous, product-specific, and moderated. A User may not request names, schools, contact information, screenshots, student data, or confidential materials. A User with an account may decline, block, report, or turn off future follow-ups.

Reporting and appeals. A User may report suspected privacy, safety, accuracy, conflict, harassment, copyright, or other violations using the Report option on the relevant review, question, or program page. A User may also email support@classcandid.com. ClassCandid may temporarily hide urgent privacy reports while they are reviewed. ClassCandid records a decision and provides an appeal route through support@classcandid.com. If a User believes content on ClassCandid infringes that User’s copyright, the User may submit a copyright complaint identifying the allegedly infringing material and providing sufficient information for ClassCandid to evaluate the claim.

Provider participation. A User acting on behalf of a product provider must accurately identify the User’s affiliation. That User may not create a fake educator account; review the provider’s own product as an educator; ask employees, customers, or contractors to create undisclosed reviews; use ClassCandid to identify or retaliate against another User; repeatedly submit substantially identical responses; or include personal information about another User. A User acting on behalf of a provider may submit a concise, labeled factual response or correction request by contacting support@classcandid.com.
