Terms of Use

Purpose. ClassCandid is an invite-only space for adults to share and read moderated, firsthand opinions about K–12 education products. It is not a product ranking, professional advice service, or guarantee of suitability.

Eligibility and account. You must be at least 18, provide accurate account information, safeguard your credentials, and use only one account. Your public identity is an anonymous alias; your email and identity-provider information are not public.

Acceptable use. Do not post student information, school/district names, confidential records, screenshots, copied instructional materials, personal contact details, harassment, threats, misleading factual claims, impersonation, paid/fake reviews, or vendor solicitation. Do not use the service to identify a reviewer.

Moderation. We may hold, edit for privacy, reject, remove, or limit content/accounts that violate these rules or create safety, privacy, legal, or platform-integrity concerns. We will not remove a review merely because a provider disagrees with an opinion.

Content license. You retain ownership of your content and grant ClassCandid a non-exclusive license to host, moderate, display, and use it to operate and improve the service. Do not submit material you do not have the right to share.

Privacy Policy

Data collected. We collect account/authentication information, anonymous alias, policy-consent records, review content and broad non-identifying context, moderation flags, opt-in follow-up requests, notification preferences, and security/technical logs needed to operate the service.

How it is used. We use this information to authenticate accounts, validate invitations, moderate reviews, operate follow-ups and notifications, prevent abuse, respond to requests, meet legal obligations, and improve the platform. We do not publicly display email addresses, school names, student data, or personal contact details.

Sharing. We share data only with service providers needed to run the service, such as hosting, database, authentication, and email providers, under appropriate contractual controls; when required by law; or to protect users and the platform. Retention and choices. Publish specific retention periods before launch. Members must be able to update preferences, request access or deletion, and delete their account through [privacy contact / deletion URL]. Retain only what is reasonably needed for security, moderation, disputes, and legal obligations.

Children. The pilot is for adults only. Do not create an account or submit information for a child. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.

Security and changes. Use access controls, encrypted transport, least-privilege access, backups, incident response, and vetted service providers. Describe your actual practices—not aspirational ones—and provide a privacy contact and effective date.

Review & Community Rules

Required reviewer badges. A posted review must be associated with a verified email, direct-use attestation, conflict disclosure, and moderation. Educator verification is optional and never displayed as a school identity.

Review standard. Write from direct experience, distinguish opinion from fact, be specific about implementation, disclose relationships/incentives, and describe the product—not a school, employee, student, or company representative. Reviews may be rejected for lack of direct use, missing disclosure, privacy risk, or policy violation.

Follow-ups. Follow-ups are opt-in, anonymous, product-specific, and moderated. Do not request names, schools, contact information, screenshots, student data, or confidential materials. Members can decline, block, report, or turn off future follow-ups.

Reporting and appeals. Report suspected privacy, safety, accuracy, conflict, harassment, copyright, or other violations through [report route]. Urgent privacy reports are temporarily hidden while reviewed. The platform records a decision and provides an appeal route to [appeals contact].

Provider responses. A verified provider representative may submit a concise, labeled factual response or correction request. They may not demand reviewer identity, offer incentives for changes, harass reviewers, or edit reviewer opinions.
